이 장신구들은 긴 시간 노동을 통해 탄생한 것이다. 그리고 이들 형상속에는 ‘그 어떤’ 형상과 물성에 대한 작가들의 여정이 그대로 녹아들어가 있다. 하나의 형상을 잡기 위한 성찰적 물음과 그 결과로 태어난 이들의 작업은 이러한 과정 그 자체만으로도 일단 가치를 형성한다. 모든 것이 일회용으로, 기계에 의해 태어나고, 그에 대한 순간적 소비가 횡행하는 시기에 그 반대 축에 자리하는 인간의 견고한 노동,시간, 그리고 그에 버금가는 사색, 그 과정을 거쳐 태어난 결과물은 신의 창조과정을 흉내 내는 전인적 과정이며, 인간만의 특권이기에 소중한 것이다. 이것을 우리는 공예적 과정이라고 부르며 소중히 여긴다.
These jewelry pieces came to life through long labor and the journey of each artist to find a certain image and material. They are the answers to reflective questions in a search for an image and this process alone endows value to each piece. Consider our modern society where most products are produced by machine, are disposable and consumed impulsively, the process chosen by these artists is quite contradictory. It requires hard labor, much time, and the same amount of thinking. This is such a valuable human privilege and we call it craft and cherish it.
